Cathie Williams, CGB, GMB, CAPS* started building homes in 1978. She started as a building superintendent and moved to managing a large custom home construction and development company. In the late 1980s, she founded her own custom home business. By the end of the decade, however, an interest in healthy living changed her focus, and she founded a new company called CM Solutions. As a wellness consultant for such large companies such as Mitchell Energy & Development Corp. and Maersk Sealand, Cathie designed, built and managed corporate wellness centers for over a decade.

Cathie has proven skills in planning, budgeting, organizing and people management. In the building business, she worked with contractors, bankers, architects, designers, developers, suppliers and homeowners. Her goal was to create seamless communication and teamwork that instilled confidence in a happy and satisfied homeowner.

A graduate of the University of Houston, with a degree in Mathematics, Cathie is a member of the National Association of Homebuilders, Texas Association of Builders, Greater Houston Builders Association, Senior Housing Council, Custom Builders Association, Association of Deep East Texas Builders, and co-chairman of The Retirement Development Council of East Texas.

Cleve Williams has been in sales and marketing for more than 20 years. His experience includes energy, retail and wholesale markets as well as new and used home sales. His ability to transfer his marketing expertise into vastly different industries clearly demonstrates his flexibility and ease in understanding the unique marketing characteristics of a variety of markets and clients. Cleve has a Texas real estate license and has been selling homes for the last several years.

In his career, Cleve introduced innovative marketing, business development and promotional strategies that accelerated growth within existing business markets and delivered revenues beyond expectations. He evaluated acquisitions and joint venture opportunities to expand market penetration and gain competitive advantages.

Although Cleve's strengths are in customer service and sales, he is no rookie when it comes to homebuilding. After graduating from Sam Houston State University, he taught construction trades. Cleve is a member of the National Association of Home Builders, Texas Association of Builders, Greater Houston Builders Association, Senior Housing Council, Custom Builders Association and the Association of Deep East Texas Builders, and is a member of the Habitat for Humanity Task Force of Polk County planning and building an affordable housing subdivision.

Jack Shoffner (of Jack Shoffner Building & Remodeling for over 50 years) grew up in construction with a father who owned a lumberyard and construction company in Hodgenville, Kentucky. At the age of 13 Jack completed his first house using materials that were salvaged from the lumberyard after a tornado struck. Jack has been building homes, banks, restaurants and schools since the 1960s and completed his first log home in 1968. Jack spent years in Kentucky building and participating in public service endeavors including volunteering at the fire department, police department, Jaycees, Lions Club and working with the Cub Scouts.

Jack started building log homes in Texas in 1980 with the first one in Brenham, then Clute, then Tomball and finally settling in Livingston. Jack is a self-taught draftsman drawing and designing many of the homes himself. He does an actual log count on each home, orders the logs and cuts them to fit. Jack can do and has done almost anything that pertains to wood including making all the trim on site. He is a master craftsman and developed many techniques that are exclusive to his work.

Southern Living has featured Jack's homes on two occasions. One was titled "A Texas House Created by Hand." One of Jack's homes was also featured in Timber Homes Magazine with a cover photo and 12 pages entitled "Picture Perfect Designs."

Jack has also reworked old log homes from the 1800s actually handpicking the trees and cutting the timber to fit just right.

Jack has accomplished so much and credits the tutelage of his father, plain hard work, experience and the determination to excel. He may not have much "formal" education but is educated beyond words and shares his experience with others by the art of his building.
